What pulsed vacuum adds in this family
The complete cycle runs on its own and chains preheating, air replacement, pulsed exhaust, heating, sterilization and drying. The drying phase is the one a gravity autoclave does not have, and it is what allows the load to be taken out without residual moisture.
The catalog places it on textiles, rubber, instruments, laboratory utensils, culture media and unsealed liquids.
The 0.22 µm filter exists for a specific reason
Every time the cycle breaks the vacuum, outside air enters a chamber that has just been left sterile. The 0.22 µm filter sterilizes that air, so the load is not recontaminated by the very process that sterilized it.
It comes with the validation programs the gravity units do not have
On top of the usual cycles, this family includes a Bowie-Dick test and a vacuum test. Those are the two checks asked of a vacuum unit to show that it removes the air and that the chamber holds the vacuum.
Its altitude limit is the lowest in the range
As standard it takes up to 2000 m, against the 2700 m of the gravity families, and the manufacturer offers to customize it for the 2000 to 3000 m band. If the unit is going to a city above that level, it has to be stated in the order.
The three models share chamber diameter (386 mm) and grow in height: 490, 670 and 900 mm. Power draw goes from 5.5 kW on the first two to 6.2 kW on the 100 L model.
